Bottled BBQ Sauce
A good way to make bottled barbeque sauce into that vinegar type, with no wait.
In a saucepan, combine the barbeque sauce, cider vinegar, ketchup, and horseradish mustard.
Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute.
Use with your favorite barbequed meat.
This is a very simple Carolina style vinegar based BBQ sauce
In a large container, mix together the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, paprika, brown sugar, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice.
Pour into an empty vinegar bottle, ketchup bottle or other container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
This Kansas City-style sauce is sweet and smoky with a little bite.
Season with garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, celery seed, cinnamon, cayenne, salt and pepper.
Reduce heat to low, and simmer for up to 20 minutes.
For thicker sauce, simmer longer, and for thinner, less time is needed. Sauce can also be thinned using a bit of water if necessary.
Brush sauce onto any kind of meat during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the orange juice, cider vinegar, lemon juice, lemon slices, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, molasses, and brown sugar.
Season with dry mustard, salt, red pepper flakes, cumin and paprika. Simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Remove lemon slices before using.
Vinegar Based BBQ Sauce
This type of sauce is popular in North Carolina. You can use this sauce as a basting sauce, or just mix it into your cooked meat when you are ready to eat.
In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, salt, cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes and brown sugar.
Mix well and allow ingredients to mesh for about 4 to 8 hours before using.

- This recipe makes 1 cup, but it's nice to double the recipe so you have extra to pass around for added flavor.

Stir the sugar, vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, ginger, cornstarch and garlic together in a saucepan over medium-high heat until mixture boils and thickens slightly.
